The plate is made from sugarcane fiber, which is a waste product from the extraction of sugar from sugar cane. The plate is thus 100% biodegradable and compostable after use. 

The material  is very strong and durable, and perfect for serving both cold and hot dishes. The plate measures 18 cm and is sold in packs of 50.
